Technology

YouTube is very popular and I like many college students love YouTube and watch it regularly. All the people I regularly watch on YouTube have been quickly gaining popularity. I would like to say it linked to the amount of Internet access reditally available. However, I would like to say it’s because of people these days.

I have found while in college this year I haven’t had to read many books or news articles compared to high school. I myself love reading and wish I had more time to do it.

Now I’m not saying YouTube is bad! As I said I love YouTube. I just feel journals, articles, blogs, etc should make a comback. I know may people I know are starting to make food and travel blogs. This is great!

However, I know it’s not the same as YouTube. Now I know blogs don’t have the benefit of being able to be purely listened to while getting ready like YouTube videos and people actually have to read blogs. Yes I did say read. That is still a thing! Not everything can be done without reading and writing. Although, it is getting close with talk to speech programs so students can talk and the computer can type their paper. This technology is amazing; however, this is teaching kids nowadays to use text (txt)  lingo in essays.

Writing scores are as a steady decline and need to be fixed. Now I know I write with contractions in my blogs and they are not ideal for essays; although, this is not an essay. This is my blog where I share share stuff on my mind for fun just like youtubers they do the videos for fun. It’s just a different platform.

All in all my point is that people should be writing and reading more YouTube and technology is great but it’s not the same as what you get from reading.

Balance

balance_scale

I want to preface this with that I was going to do a different post this week however, I had such a drastic and stressful week of great days and horrible days. I felt this post was necessary.

Life is always a balance of the good and the bad. Sunday was one of the best days I had in a long time I went to a  college group I had only been to once before, but my friend who went there often  was not going to be able to make it. Therefore, I went by myself but I was very nervous. However, once I got there I had a blast and was so happy I went!

However, today was one of the worst days to say the least. However, this was a great lesson because I realized despite how awful my day was. I would not know that this day was a bad day with out the good and great days. Likewise I would not know bad days with out the good days.

No one wants bad days, but no one can have good without the bad. There can’t be happy without sad, excitement without anger etc. Whenever you are having a bad day remember that there will be good days ahead! You would also not think of the day you are having as a bad day without the previous experiences you have had in the past. So, keep your head up and if your having a bad day just remember: Its not a bad life, it’s just a bad day. Also, here are some inspiration quotes to help get you through you bad day.

“Tough times never last, but tough people do” ~ Robert H. Schuller

“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”~Joseph Kennedy

“If you fell down yesterday, stand up today.”~H.G. Wells

“Don’t be discouraged. It’s often the last key in the bunch that opens the lock.” ~Unknown

“The pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow. For every challenge encountered, there is opportunity for growth.”~Unknown

“Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyze you; they’re supposed to help you discover who you are.”~Bernice Johnson Reagon

Stress

Life is full of decisions, and they don’t get easier. In fact they get harder as you grow older. When I was younger I remember my hardest decision was to figure out what ice cream I wanted to get. But now, in college, you would think it would only involve you and your life. However, that’s a misconception.

Every decison involves pros and cons and effects different poeple. As I said in an earlier post you can’t please everyone; however, I try my hardest to. Although, that doesn’t always happen and I know that. If fact it makes me more stressed than if I didn’t try to please everyone.

Although people are quick to judge! Stereotypes are all around us in society. Within fifteen seconds of seeing someone your brain has already associated if you think they are apporchable, their status etc..

As we grow more and more stress gets added to our lives. Some days it gets hard to handle it all, and when push comes to shove tough decisions have to be made.

Recently I had to make a very touch decision which ended up affecting every aspect of my life as well as many people. Long story short I stressed about what people would think if I chose one option over the other. This was totally the wrong thing to do because it ended up giving me so much stress I couldn’t sleep which effected my school work and family life more than it should of.

All in all, when tough decisions have to be made in life don’t stress look at the pros and cons and make the decision that is right for you! Don’t worry about what others will think or how it will effect them ( however in certain situations it will be necessary, but not in mine regarding college).

New experience

I can’t be the only one who is scared to try to things. I have been in college for about 7 months now and honestly haven’t meet many people.

I have two people I mainly hang out with, but I recently got invited to a college group night, I really don’t know what is called- just a hang out I guess would be the best descriptor, at someone’s house. I’m really excited; however I am also really nervous because my two friends can’t come so I will be all alone.

However, my friends who have lived in his town pretty much all there life know the persons house and they say their really nice. Although I still wish they could come.

Nontheless, dispite how much I am on the edge about this getting out of your comfort zone is a great thing todo. Although it definitely doesn’t feel like it!

I found a great quote which says : “life begins at the end of your comfort zone” -Nicole Walrich. This is so true!

Dispite the nervousness and other abundance of thought and feeling going out of your comfort zone it is healthy. Nothing good comes from not stepping out of your comfort zone. That’s what I just have to keep telling myself because otherwise I feel like I will get to nervous and stay home.

One more thing to remember, once you try it you can hate it, unless it involves food because I learned you need to try that at least three times. However it would be better to apply that to going out of you comfort zone too. Unless of course it was so bad and you felt way to uncomfortable because only you can gauge what is okay for you.
